South Beach For Spring Break-cheap Hotels?partying?

6 of us are going to Miami for our spring break. We want to know about cheap hotels around south beach. Only one i found is the starlite hotel-has anyone been there?is it decent for college students?
Other hotel, we are looking at is the deauville beach resort, which is on Miami beach-should we consider going to that one? because i’ve heard all the action is on south beach in terms of clubbing but dont know how should we get to south beach everyday from miami beach?
also we wanna know about nightlife in south beach/miami beach?
any good spring break locations we should hit?

Hey! ive been to the starlite hotel last yr. It was good. Right next to wet willys and across from the beach. 6 girls stayed there and it was decent. Beds a lil lumpy but everything was fine. I also stayed in deauville beach resort; and i lovedd that place!! NIce, clean rooms, and biiig pool and nice jacuzzi. I will be in south beach in march too. Both the starlite and deauville were too expensive for me this time around. Look into the island house in south beach(they had a special going on with orbitz..im not sure if it expired). Check out the Best Western South Beach…we stayed there last year for spring break and the location is almost perfect. Only two blocks off the beach and surrounded by restaraunts, clubs and stores…everything is in walking distance. I think we paid around $150-200/night which is actually a decent price for south beach but don’t know if that’s out of your range or not. The hotel was mostly occupied with other spring breakers and is one of the few places to actually have an outdoor pool/courtyard which is a nice plus!
