Does Sweden Have A Good Party/club Scene?

6th December 2009

I’m thinking about moving to Sweden once I finish college (I have a decent grasp on the language, and would learn incredibly quickly if i was actually there) but i heard that overall Swedish people aren’t very friendly or outgoing.
Does Sweden have a good nightlife and is it easy to make friends? If not, where in Europe would be a nice, social place to live?
I just want to get out of the U.S. The world is a big place and I want to go experience it, I’ve been in California my whole life.

    Hello!
I’d say that we’re reserved or sometimes shy, rather than unfriendly…
In smaller places people usually not socialize a lot outside of their homes, so we’re not so outgoing in that sense.
But in the bigger cities or the University towns you should find what you’re looking for, I think!

    Hey,

you should go to Stockholm or Gothenburg, night life here is going off! In Stockholm you should go to “Stureplan” for the club scene, its more house/electro based here, then in say LA hip-hop scene. If you want more Silverlake kind of loose vibe, you go to the part of city that is called “Södermalm” and just go bar-hopping. Theres few cool places in old town as well. I think that Stockholm party scene is happening all 7 days a week, and we dont stop serving at 1 AM, a lot of places serve unitl FIVE!

Id say if you go to Stockholm, you should to to “Stureplan” to hit the clubs, they play more electro music then as in LA hip-hop. If you want do soem bar-hopping before you hit the clubs, go to “Södermalm” its more like Silverlake in LA, chill. Theres no 1AM last drink here, a lot of places go on until 5 AM, and there is something going on 7 nights a week. But you do need to ask a local what place go off when. If you go to Stockholm, let me know, I give you name of places to visit.

    Hi,
Swedes are very outgoing – as soon as they drink. Sweden might be a nice change from Calli, since its more or less the opposite. Stockholm is THE happening city, everyday of the week at least couple of places hold open until 7 am, and there’s only one million people living here. Swedes are a lot into the rock and electronic scene, and they booze a lot, compared to Californians. I go between LA and Stockholm and its very refreshing!
