I will expand on that other long answer….
St. Mary’s: ‘nuf said by the other.
Chapman: ‘nuf said
USF: My mom went there and it was very strictly catholic during her time… I don’t know if it has changed. It’s a good school and SF is a great place. There is a lot of culture, but there aren’t really any dorms. Good luck finding a place to stay after your freshman year. I visited it and it seemed like it lacked a campus really. You need to visit it.
Claremont Colleges: Scripps is a women’s college. Harvey Mudd is all computer sciences and engineering and stuff like that. Pomona is good for other sciences (biology, chemistry), don’t really know anything about Pitzer or Claremont-Mckenna though. Sorry. The whole way it is all set up is a confusing mess to me. You would be much happier at Occidental College in nearby Eagle Rock, I think. My brother goes there now and he loves it.
Pepperdine: Do you want the Bible shoved down your throat? Then apply here. Good education, beautiful campus, and beautiful people, but it is very closed minded and extremely religious (Church of Christ). You have to go to their church service once a week and you get a grade based on how many times you go in a semester. You can’t graduate unless you pass that “class.” No alcohol is allowed on campus. I don’t recommend it unless you are already really, really Christian.
Lewis and Clark: a very, very good college for most things, but it is weakest in the sciences (they are still very good though). It is small and in beautiful Portland, Oregon. My personal favorite of the bunch you listed. It is just outside of the hustle and bustle of the downtown area but it is easy to access everything in Portland because they have a very good transport system for the entire metro area. There is a lot of culture in Portland and Saturday markets are amazing (I am from Oregon). In your given list… I would recommend this one the most.
Still you should check out Occidental College.

i noticed that most of the school on your list of private schools are Liberal Arts College.
Saint Mary’s of Moraga
Moraga is definitely a safe town, almost boring… everything (except for Safeway and 7-11) closes down around 8 PM… and by 10. the good thing is, there are exciting places nearby (and it’s even better if you have a car.. but, public transportation isn’t too bad.. on the weekdays anyway..) Walnut Creek is about 15 mintues away, Berkeley is about 25 minutes away (unless you drive really fast..) and San Francisco is about 45 minutes away (depending on traffic..)
the college itself is really cute, but also really small.. it’s almost like it’s hidden in the hills. the people are also really nice
MANDATORY! well to tell you ahead of time you MUST visit the college before deciding on attening because Moraga’s one of those things that you either absolutely love or loathe
Chapman University
i have heard a lot of opposite emotions about chapman. some people say they love it while others say that it doesnt offer enough and is just a like all the other regular college. i heard that they have all the social scene like all the other school, but some of it is on the down low. so i would say go to maybe to their discover day and talk to some of the students attending there on those day. the campus is very nice. well i think so. i personally like it (i dont go to the school but i have been there for camps and other events). the food is good. so that that a plus. chapman seems like a really good school to go for education since they are ranked (go to http://search.usnews.com/index_library/search?keywords=chapman+university to check them out [US news])
University of San Francisco
it near the bay area. and i heard it really fun to go there. sorry.
Claremont Colleges
I honestly dont know too much about them i just know they are… Pomona College, Claremont Graduate University, Scripps College,Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College, Pitzer College, Keck Graduate Institute, Claremont University Consortium
and these college are pretty small and that Claremont has a
pretty good business school
Pepperdine
christian college. some of my church member go there. they like it. education there is really good. and the professors and staff are always willing to help out students. um… they like it. it in Malibu so there are a lot of rich people. they have a branch off building in los angeles (i only know because whenever i go to la i see the building. it next to the freeway) sorry not too much help. i talk to them then maybe come back an update you.
Lewis and Clark
i dont know sorry
hope all this info helps and good luck in the future.
