Lake Tahoe: Nv Or Ca?

I am in charge of setting up my brother’s bachelor party and we’ve all decided on going to Lake Tahoe. The problem is, I know nothing about the area except that there is skiing and gambling. Where is the best area for us to stay in to enjoy the skiing and nightlife?

South lake tahoe in CA side is more pretty and many parks in west side of lake.
In NV side, more casinos.

If you had your heart set on Lake Tahoe for the bachelor’s party, I’d definitely stay at one of the casinos – Harrah’s, Harvey’s or the new Montbleu in Stateline, NV. All three have clubs for nightlife and casinos, etc. For a real nevada bachelor party experience, drive up to Carson City (straight up highway 50 about an hour) and stop by one of the famous brothels – The Moonlight Bunny Ranch featured on HBO or The Mustang Ranch. You might wind up just looking, but I’m sure it’d be fun either way!

It is more low key and rustic on the CA side as the 1st answerer indicated ….so for a Bachelor party, definitely the NV side would be more suited for those needs.

SInce the state line goes right through Tahoe, you should stay on the California side of S. Lake Tahoe, then have the shuttles pick you up and drop you off.

Stay at Harrahs!! Its a blast! Eat at fire and Ice at the shopping center it has fire oits outside and a bar real nice! The cabo wabo bar is a blast to go at night as well. Have fun!
