Can Anyone Please Recommend A 4-star-ish Singles Resort In Cancun/cozumel? Meaning, Less Couples And Families.
15th October 2009
A friend and are going in December, over Christmas, we are 28 and 45 and would like to Party, but have a good relaxing time. Preferably 4-star resorts in either city. We are most interested in nightlife, shopping and beach access. Although, hotel cleanlieness and amentities are also very important. Thanks for your help!

I just got back from Cancun and loved it as always. I have been there too many times to count. It is on my favorites list of places in the world.
If you want to stay on the beach, and not be bothered by kids, there are many places to do this. 4 stars, the Flamingo is a hit and miss on kids, sometimes they have kids, othere times they don’t. I love it. The only drawback is that if you want to party it up with alot of people and don’t want to take too long to get back to your room at night, the flamingo is not the place to be. It is south of Cancun point, which is where all the action is at night.
Instead of walking 2 mins to your room, the flamingo is 20 mins, or a short cab ride away. But i love the flamingo.
Oasis is good but might still be under renovation. A hurricane, Rita maybe?, hit Cancun hard and some hotels are under renovations.
I thought less people would go to Cancun after the hurricane destroyed the beach and hotels, but Cancun bought a new 200 million dollar beach and upgraded the hotels. More people are enjoying Cancun now.
Hotel Krystal got a new name, NH? i think. I dont think that I have ever seen kids there. I liked staying there.
Don’s stay in Cozumel too long, I dont think that it is worth staying more than a day there. Go to Boca Paila!! that is south of cozumel and the have some mayan ruins on the beach that are awesome! You can miss out on Chichenitza either, a must see. Dont go home without swimming in a “cenote” or sink hole!
Have fun!

Well 3 years ago I went to Cancun and stayed at Club El Mandarin it isnt that family type of hotel. It has seperate hotel rooms spread out through the resourt. After paying for the room the food & drinks are free. The hotel is right on the beach with the true blue water. Go to their website@ http://www.applevacations.com/showHotel.do?command=showHotel&display=1&hotelCode=200321

look downtown Cancun. there are a couple nice ones that have great concierge services and you’ll save money not being on the beach but still getting all the access benefits. tons of stuff to do through the concierge services.
good luck
