What Do You Think Of French Canadians?
My first 5 months in the French Canada is disappointing, for such an beautiful and developed country.I find the French Canadians very ignorant, always blaming the English for evrything and think they are better than all the race. I sincerely believe they bring this on themselves, because they do not want to learn English and are insecure about travelling, and stay narow-minded. Being part of bigger America, I was thinking that they are the life of the party.It’s difficult to enjoy a conversation because they find no interest in international topics , especially most of the world news are linked to U.S. Of course there is the popculture infuence and nightlife, but I haven’t met the poeple who are part of it in my life daily. But I’m not saying the English Canada are better people, bcoz on the other hand the Quebecors(French Canadians) are warm people if you stay in their league and embrace their oppinions.
Are there people who think the same?

i must have met different people than you, although I did not live in Canada, but have visited Montreal quite a few times. I found them generally to be very open, articulate, and polite. The ones I met were very much into politics and had wide range of opinions, especially about American politics. and lifestyle.

One word – ditto. I have lived in Ontario all my life, and haven’t met an french Canadian yet that wasn’t full of themselves.

French Canadians were in Canada 100 years before the English .Why should they have to learn English even though most do,How many English speaking Canadians make an effort to learn French.And I would not knock them for anything you say sorry but just ..mho

french / canadians……well as uk citizens…they abore sex……..as french heritage , they love casual sex….so when combined they become very consfused and self loathing, perhaps that is why they are so darn rude and arrogant !, every on of them i’ve ever met are rude, arrogant and just plain evil !

French Canadians come in all shapes and sizes. You have the hard core seperatists and those who love Canada, the rude and the polite, the ignorant and the cultured…
Why should many of them learn English? They don’t need to.
As for being insecure about travelling, Quebecers actually travel a fair bit. Most go to resorts in Cuba or others areas in the south, but it’s still travelling
I’m sorry to learn you haven’t met any interesting French Canadians yet. But keep an open mind, they are out there.

Mostly it is cut and dry, the fench are rude, and they want to seperate from the rest of Canada , but they want everything first, the hell with them, im sick of them, and if they want their own country let them have it

My Canadian relatives consider them racist. THe Quebecois, allegedly don;t like anyone, but there own kind. In fact they say there are other French Canadian colonies through out Canada, and they say the same thing. THen again they’re English Canadians and you just said some nasty things about them, so take it with a grain of salt. I only know one person of French Canadian descent, She’s fine. THough my coworkers call her a back stabber. I;m not doubting that, but at that place, everyone was one too. She was the least evil person at worst. DO what I do at your situation. Look for the best of the bunch and hang with the. There always good and bad in any community.
